Gupta Dynasty, Kumaragupta I (Mahendraditya), Gold Dinar, Horseman - Left Type. Obv: king without nimbus riding horse to left, holding bow and sword tied to the waist, seated on high stepping horse, Rev: goddess lakshmi seated facing left on cushioned stool, holding long stemmed lotus, & feeding grapes to a peacock at left, with brahmilegend"ajitamahendra"in the right field, 8.7g, 17.79mm, (Altekar, Bayana # Pl. XXIV-14), about extremely fine+,Very Rare.
The king's left hand is seen tied with the stlylized royal ribbon flying just below the elbow. The horse figure is almost complete on this specimen with clear strikes. Overall complete details and well hammered coin, very attractive.
